The CTC HoE has regular rides/meets throughout the year, together with additional weekends, holidays and other events.
- Sunday rides are between 40 & 60 miles - every week throughout the year.
The usual Sunday run is classed as an "A ride" Fortnightly, we run a "B ride" as well. A rides are an all day ride , typically 40-60 miles ridden at a brisk pace. B rides are a half- day in winter/spring, a full day in summer, 25-40 miles at a slower pace.
- Wednesday rides - every week throughout the year - alternating with a 40 mile ride or a meet for coffee and (usually) a shorter ride.
- Audax - the club organises two popular rides from Meriden in May each year as part of the CTC Heart of England Rally
- Other events - are organised on an ad hoc basis (see the Events section for details)
The Sunday and Wednesday rides are at a pace that will be appropriate to the group, the rides follow quiet lanes through the countryside and are suitable for most types of bicycle.
The menu tab Events provides a master list, indexed, of all events within a number of categories - with additional information on start venues or any booking/entry requirements.
NOTE: The official start times are as published BUT there is usually some leeway - the norm is for the rides to depart 15 minutes after the advertised time ... there may be nobody there at the published time, they WILL arrive!
Events will be automatically un-published the day after they take place, but will be added to an archive that can be viewed.
Bad weather : default destination - Earlswood Garden Centre
In the event of bad weather (Sunday and Wednesday rides) the Ride Captain may call off the run. <We are trying to work out a simple method of transmitting the decision to riders >
If conditions improve later, Riders may choose to meet up at Earlswood Garden Centre (by station) at 11.45/12.00 This would be an informal arrangement.
The EVENTS listing should always be up-to-date, however there is a traditional "Runs List" document (and assuming Hon Sec continues to produce it, then it it will continue to be published here)
