Until January 2009 CTC-Heart of England was Birmingham Southern Wheelers. The new name is to encompass the entire CTC membership within a defined geographical area

The Southern Wheelers CTC Section became a CTC Member Group and its name was changed to CTC-Heart of England Member Group. 

The Birmingham & Midland District Association of the CTC was disbanded and the Southern, Western and Over 50s Sections became Informal Activities (as defined by CTC) within the new CTC-Heart of England Member Group.

An Organising Committee will be established to run the continuing joint activities for the area (currently the Heart of England Rally and Meriden Carol Service)
